Corny has been a complete handful lately. Last week, he was diagnosed with Canine Cognative Disorder, which is sort of like a doggie alzheimers. He regularly gets lost in the house, falls off of furniture, cries for no reason, etc. He started medication last week, but it takes about 3 weeks to start working.
I woke him up on Saturday because we got him a surprise.
Maizy tried to help, even.
I finally got him roused enough to show him what we bought. Due to his doggie alzheimers, Corny is contantly getting lost, stuck, or hurting himself on things around the house. We were worried about crating him because he could hurt himself on a crate, so he's got this:
He's still working on warming up to it, but I think he'll be fine eventually. I've even come home to find him sleeping in there a few times. At least I know that he's not falling off the bed and getting stuck between the dresser and the wall anymore while I'm out of the house.
Other than that, Corny is doing well. I hope that his medicine kicks in soon, because he kept us up half the night with his circling and whining in the bed. Being old is tough.
Also, in case you wondered... Corny's siblings are doing well, too. Maizy is the 75 lb lap dog and Wrigley is the recent obedience school graduate! ;)
