Yesterday afternoon Nate and I noticed that Skeeter had some white, pussy looking discharge on his man-bit. Shortly after that we noticed that he has some red-rashy skin underneath his front paws. He's going to the vet in a couple of hours, but I'm wondering if anyone has any insight as to what that might be? He is eating and going to the bathroom with no problem, his food hasn't changed, yadda yadda. He is breathing fairly heavy, and plopping himself in front of the AC to cool himself off, and enjoyed a nice afternoon icecube.

I am wondering if perhaps it's a heat rash of sorts or something. He has spent a lot of time outside the last few days (three trips to the park) and has been lethargic (although that is his normal personality) and it's already 86 degrees out here already (which I believe is slightly high for NY state). Also, I gave him a bath the other day after our first trip to the park because he jumped into a sort-of filthy lake to cool off (which I can imagine being the cause of all this), which hopefully would have not only cooled im off, but got rid of whatever filthy-ness was in that lake.

I suppose the vet will figure it all out this evening for us, but I'm hoping for a little bit of an idea of what to expect.

I forgot to tell you about how hilarious the "pee catching" episode was. I brought this tiny little container we had (I have a whole bunch of them that are unopened that I always take a few from the package to mix colored icings in) and we're lucky, because Skeet feels the need to pee on EVERY tree in our backyard, so I figured we had at least five chances to catch some.

Well, every since time I lean down to "catch" some, he thinks that I've got some sort of treat in the containter and starts licking at (which he's doing mid-pee). I couldn't get him to stop following my hand and even though Nate was holding the leash, it was just nearly impossible. We're going to have to really sneak attack him next time.

I could be a lil yeast infection. No biggee. But you're good to let a vet figure it out for sure.

Was he neutered recently by chance? We had a situation with Henry with discharge right after he was neutered and it was his,ahem.....man junk.

How recently? We adopted him on the 29th of April and he was neutered about two weeks before that.. is that recent enough? It really did look like "man junk" too! Eww!

Firstly, I LOVE that I got you to type manjunk! Ha ha....

Secondly, I am not sure for how long it can discharge. It happened with Henry 1 or 2 days afterwards...

Be sure to post after you go to the vet!
