We found him at the Humane Society of Silicon Valley through Petfinder. I saw him just after they posted him on Wednesday night and went to see him on Thursday. Yesterday morning Roger, Toby, and I went back to meet him. Everything went very well, so now he is our baby.
It has been less than 24 hours and he is settling in well. There hasn't been any trouble between the boyz. There have even been moments of "almost play". Sammie is sweet, energetic, and enthusiastic. There isn't a mean bone in him. He seems to be bonding to us readily and really wants to please us. I am so happy about how smoothly the process is going. Here they are on Roger's lap after we had been home for just a few hours.
Sammie is such a sweet little boy. He loves to snuggle, is curious about everything without getting into things he shouldn't, and good about obeying us. He is becoming familiar with the doggie door and best of all there haven't been any "accidents" in the house. I don't think he has been abused; there isn't fear in him, just a little uncertainty about where he fits in.
We couldn't ask for more. Welcome home Sammie.
