The Girl in the Self Imposed Box

Wish Fizzy luck!

Amongst other horrible things going on in my life right now, I found a lump on Fizzgig today. It appears to be subcutaneous and is about the size of a pea. It's over his chest/rib area on the right side of his ribs. He is only 2 years old, very young to start growing tumors. And, as far as I know, bostons are not as prone to tumors as other breeds such as boxers. I at first thought it was just a lump from injuring himself (the frequent running into things and falling over) or maybe a bug bite. But I felt it and had my co-worker feel it and we both agree that it's deeper than that and he appears to be growing a mass. I'm going to have one of the veterinarians I work with look at it in the morning and depending on what she thinks, do a fine needle aspirate of it and see what type of cells it's made up of. Unfortunately, there are'nt any surgical cases in the hospital, so a surgeon won't be coming in this morning. Hopefully I'm jumping the gun and it is just a bug bite. Or if it is a mass, hopefully it's a cyst or a fatty tissue tumor. I'm just hoping it's not a mast cell tumor or cancer. Anyway, I will update once I find out. Fizzy is getting a bath tonight so he does'nt smell like pee when the doctor examines him. The results may take as long as a week, but I'll post as soon as I find out.

I've taken more pictures of him, maybe I will post them tomorrow.
