I went out of town last week, and while I was away, one of our bunnies, Liza, passed away. She'd been sick and had seen the vet, but I guess there was nothing else we could do. Anyway, I wasn't home and my husband, Shawn, found her and had taken and set her outside the cage (because her sister, Louise, was still in there) while he called me and figured out what to do. He told me that Cornholio came in and walked over and nudged Liza with his nose. Then, he ran over and looked at Shawn, then ran back to Liza, and back to Shawn until Shawn acknowledged him. I just thought that was so sweet. What a smart cookie he is.
In better news, I was really worried about how Louise would take the death of her sister, who she had never in her life (or at least since I'd adopted them over three years ago) been apart from. It seems, though, that her and Corny have become newfound friends and spend a lot of time sleeping on the bed together when Louise comes out to play at night. It's wonderful. I'll have to try to take some pictures of the two of them hanging out this weekend.
Anyway, I just had to share that. Dogs are no dummies. :)
