Question
Quick question if anyone is around...Albus is drooling like crazy but only out one side of his mouth.  He woke up and was fine this morning.  My parents came up and gave him two toys which he played with for a while and then I noticed he was drooling.  He was outside for a bit but I don't think he got into anything.  Any thoughts?

It's only on one side of his mouth....the other side is normal when I lift his gums and stick my finger in there.  If it got into a poison he'd drool out both sides I would expect?

I know that they gave him two cashews...but otherwise nothing strange to eat.

So any thoughts would be appreciated.  I'm gonna watch him for a little longer then I guess I'll have to sell a kidney and take him to the 24 hour vet if he doesn't stop.

it sounds like he got into something in the yard. toads and certain plants can cause a drooling reaction. maybe he got into something but it only came in contact with one side of his mouth. if he's breathing and swallowing ok, and there's no swelling, you might want to wait a bit and see if he improved. good luck. I hope Albus feels better right away.

Thanks! It must have been a injury to his mouth. That's what the vet thought it most likely was...and it finally stopped. I never did find any injury though.

It's possible also that he has a cut in his mouth. Gambit cut his lip and that caused him to drool a lot - saliva rushes to clean and disinfect a wound. Check that side of his mouth for cuts?

It looks like this is what was happening. I called the vet and she said as long as he was awake and acting normal to just keep an eye on him that he may have injured his mouth. I never found a cut but it eventually stopped.
