One of my husband's students is orginally from Oklahoma and was telling him about a breeder that they have gotten all their pups from. My husband went to their website and saw the Boston puppies and fell in love with "Max". He was the runt and all his brothers and sisters were picking on him so the breeder gave him to their pug momma who had just given birth to a litter but lost some of her babies. The puggy took him in as one of her own and pretty soon he was picking on the puggy babies!
We have a 5 year old Bugg (Pug and Boston Terrier) who now lives with my parents about 10 minutes away from us, and I didn't know if I was ready for another puppy. But after much discussion and some financial rearranging, we went for it.
Max is now Rhett, after Rhett Butler from Gone With the Wind (His sister's (the Bugg) name is Tara after the house from the same). Rhett was born October 16th. Last Friday, he was driven from Oklahoma to Dallas TX where he boarded a flight and flew all the way to Newark NJ where my husband was waiting to pick him up and drive him back here to PA. Rhett is doing very well and is a little terror. He is pooping on the wee-wee pad (we're still working on the tinkies) and is chewing everything in sight. He has mastered standing on his hind legs at a little over 2 months old, which surprised the vet. He met his sister and spent Christmas Day with her. She has adopted the attitude of "I'm 5 and I'm too old for puppy play" which doesn't sit well with Rhett as he wants to pounce on her repeatedly. But aside from that and trying to nurse off her once (Oops!), they are getting along great.
I know the next few months will contain few hours of sleep, many chewed shoes and lots of puppy pee puddles, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
