Health question

Hi everyone ^^
My puppy Weasley (he's just about 4 months old) has "cherry eye", or nictitans gland prolapse. It just appeared yesterday. My older Boston had the same thing as a puppy, but hers went away spontaneously while I was dithering about whether to try the surgery or not, and it has not been back once in the 2 years since. My question for you guys is did any of your Bostons suffer from this condition? And if so, did you opt for surgery? I'm of course afraid of surgery for my little guy, but I don't want him to suffer, either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ETA: Oookay. It's popped back in now. O_o
But advice is still welcome. :)
