Atlanta Area Boarding?

Hi everyone! I'm in kind of a pickle. I have to go to New York next week....and unfortunately, my friend who can usually pet sit for me is unavailable. I could take her with me...but don't know if I should. There would be a day/night where I would have no other choice but to board her. So....I have a few questions:

1. Has anyone traveled with their Boston? Specifically, "in-cabin air travel". How did that go?
2. Know of any good pet sitters/in New York - Manhattan area?
3. Know of any good pet sitters/in New York - Manhattan area?

I'm all in knots about this. Thanks!
