Female pattern baldness?
Hi everyone,
Does anyone else's Boston have female pattern baldness?  I started noticing it on Zoie's ears and back/inside of back legs this summer, but now her tummy and sides are losing hair as well.  I'm not sure how long this has been going on, but I am afraid that she is going to end up hairless!

Yes, Beasties got this around age 10, started on her ears, then her tummy, bum and inside of back legs, it's just a general thinning of hair.

hair loss can be a sign of a thyroid problem or mange. it could also just be summer shedding (my short-haired dogs do shed in the spring/summer).

One of my girls has this. My vet said that it is a sign of allergies.

I don't know much about this, but my boyfriend's dog just got diagnosed with some type of mange - and the vet told him it starts on the head/face area - so maybe mange?

My Boston April has a tiny bit of hair loss/thin hair around her ears, her belly, and the insides of her legs.

My dachshund Mackenzie has female pattern baldness and hers is much worse. She's got no hair on her neck, chest, belly, inside her legs and the backs of her thighs.

The rest of both of their coats are absolutely stunning though. :)
