training....

we are currently crate-training Mason. Its been going pretty great-he goes in there all the time now & has been going to sleep without a fuss...

the problem,
i think my guy is having a rough time teething..  He barely ate at all today & has been in a foul mood.  He has been biting us/the underside of the couch and when we say "NO!" he growls!?!?!

my question is, what aside from "no" can we do?  He needs to know he cant growl at me (how do i say "i am the alpha") I know using the crate as a punishment is an absolute no-no.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
