barking
Hello, first off Mia's stitches from her spay came out yesterday, no complications at any point of the proceedings :) Secondly, Mia is about 6 1/2 months old now. She does not bark. If I get her really riled up while we're playing outside I might get one or two, but that's it. She does growl a lot when playing, but otherwise hardly ever makes noise.

She has only whined in her "room" (crate) overnight once or twice in the four months we've had her, and the only other time she makes any noise is when she wants to play with another dog and we don't let her. Has anyone else had any experience like this?

My Rudy does not bark unless there's someone at the door. When he was about your Mia's age, he didn't bark AT ALL! I was worried too! She probably just won't be much of a barker. My other 3 are all various degrees of quiet or noisy. Hardly a peep out of Nina even when there's good reason to bark. Katie barks at anything and everything. Bella falls somewhere in between.

They are such an interesting and varied breed! I love 'em!

Our Daisy doesn't bark, and she's five years old. Now, when I say she doesn't bark, that means she doesn't bark at random things or suspicious noises or just, you know, at NOTHING like I've seen so many dogs do.

She barks when we're playing keep-away with her (she loves it), and if someone suddenly walks in the front door and she wasn't expecting it, she'll make two Mean Barks, but that's all she does.

She loves to Mean Growl when we play tug, though. She thinks she's so tough ;)

Capella really doesn't bark much either and especially didn't as a puppy. Definitely barks the least of any dog I ever had growing up. She'll bark when we play and sometimes at the door if a noise outside scares her.

My little Oliver hardly barks at all. He sure does do a whole lot of snorting though!!! :)

My emo never barked unless she thought she needed to (strangers coming to the door at night), but then we got another boston puppy when emo was about 6 yrs old. emo barks ALL the time now. she barks at EVERYTHING. its really really annoying. emma, the puppy, barks a little.

Neither of my Bostons bark. Pretty much ever.

i have my first boston terrier & she is almost four months old & she hardly ever barks. she only growls at the cats to try to get them to play with her, or she'll do the really quiet bark when she is unsure about a noise & i have only heard her do her alarm bark once & it was the cutest thing ever! sometimes i wish she would do it more :P
i also have a malamute who never barks- she just howls all of the time. hehe.

Our guy never barks.

I mean, I really haven't heard it in over two months.

He whimpers a lot but he never barks. Even when he's playing with other dogs at the park, he just plays... no noise. It's so odd on the one hand and nice on the other. He's not a dog that annoyingly barks at everything and he's not loud, which is nice.

It's still kind of weird, though. I'm glad to know that Bostons may just be quiet!

Eloise NEVER barks. when she was a puppy, we could get her totally pumped and then SOMETIMES a little bark would slip out.

now she never barks. if she does, then we know something is going on (albeit the something going on is that there is an owl hooting outside and it scares her!). and even then, we get a very low-volume "woof", and only one and a half at the most!

also: she has never howled, and only whined twice (the first night we put her in her crate and once shen she was too little to jump back on the bed and we were all asleep. and both of those were only for about 2 seconds).
