Feet Licking

I remember someone asking if our dogs lick their feet, and if I remember correctly quite a few responded, including myself. Forgive me if this has already been answered, but I just found a possible solution from my vet this afternoon.

Often frequent feet licking (and even chewing) is because they have itchy feet from the grass pollen when they go outside. He recommended to wipe down with a wet cloth, then dry cloth every time they come in from the outside. Well Smudge goes in and out about 2000 times a day, so he said give a 25mg Benadryl (knock-off brand is OK too) twice a day, and that should take care of it.

For 9 years she's been licking her feet and I just thought she had OCD or was crazy. Now I feel awful! Poor Smudge has been itchy for 9 years!
