Breeders in the Greater Toronto Area
I hope this post is acceptable (this is the first post that I have made here). I don't have a boston terrier but I must admit I have been lurking here for some time now and I admire all of your bostons!

I am currently looking into breeders in the Greater Toronto Area and I was wondering if anyone here can recommend any breeders in the GTA??

The following are some that I have been looking into - Beddford Bostons, A. A & T Bostons, Hornerbrook, Sassy Kennels.

If you can share any opinions about these breeders or can recommend any others that would be greatly appreciated!!

Bedford Bostons
Both of my bostons come from Bedford Bostons. They are very friendly and I enjoy their setup - they have a loving family home and the dogs get to meet other dogs, children and people during their infancy so they are very sociable and friendly. The owner answered all my questions but the contract is very long and specific as to which food to feed, and so on; she also sometimes gave me the impression that what she said was right and everything I thought was wrong - like when Daisy came home with worms and giardia and she immediately said they came from Gambit, and NOT from her house of 8 dogs that backs onto a lake, a known breeding ground of giardia. Made me feel kind of like if anything went wrong she might not 100% have my back.

But she has an extensive health checks and had all the paperwork for their family heritage, their pedigree, etc up front. Got to meet the sire and dam of both our pets so we could see their temperment, size, colouring, etc.

Cash up front, she has raised her fees since we bought Gambit in 2006, but we got a discount for Daisy as repeat customers. About 1450 each dog. She is very good with the puppies and gives a nice "Startup" package with treats and a blankie and collar and etc.

It was pretty peaceful when we went to get Daisy in the spring of last year. There were a few puppies and only 4 other dogs - the sire and dam of one, Gambit's dad (who has become a family pet) and another boston who was a bit elderly. I guess it depends on how many they want to breed.

I think in terms of breeding, I am very happy with both my pets, they are healthy, bright and alert. I have no temperament concerns. Both their parents were also loveable - I wanted to keep Gambit's dad!

But I agree that the owner was pushy. She was super organized and efficient, kind of like Monica from friends, but since taking the puppy we haven't had any more contact with them, and that's been for the best. I know they both came from a good home, but I feel like if I ever asked any questions she'd, like, take my dog back and say I was stupid.

So I guess it depends on what kind of breeder relationship you want. The dogs turned out great. Daisy is super smart and Gambit is a total sweetheart.
