I just noticed that my Cole is on the bottom left of the page. :-)

- On another note, kinds gross, has anyone else's dog have a leakage problem from the rear end area?-

yeah i see Cole. I just coudln't see Hog & clem. but now i see even more dogs. maybe she is working on it right now.

she said the only thing i could do is bring him in the all time for them to express them. they charged $35 to do it though!!!!!

which is INSANE. The normal price a vet should charge is about $10.

i try doing it myself. I was sucessful once.

is it like a metalic smell??

$35 for that, wow, that is a rip off. It is like a metallic smell, nauseating to say the least. How did you do it yourself?

yes!11111111

Hog has had this problem for years. I asked the vet about it and they said his anal glands just release themselves. It always happens when he is really comfortable and relaxed.. or nervous and scared.

Did he say there is anything you can do? I know they break or whatever when they poo but Cole is getting gross when he sits with us on the couch. We have to smell him before he jumps up otherwise he is banned to his bed..heh.

:) Leakage
Most likely anal glands need to be expressed. This occurs in all dogs -- something your vet or groomer can take care of in a jiff!
