Alrighty! So I have a full-body shot of Darcy and some snuggle time snaps of she and Beebs. They aren't the best quality because the camera has still not been found, but BEHOLD! The power od WEBCAM!
Yeah, that's why we thought she was like, a greyhound mix. We think it's Roachback. We're gonna ask if it'll cause her any serious problems. She doesn't have any right now, but better to be prepared.
It does mean we're getting her spayed. There's no sense in breeding a dog that doesn't fit the breed standard and leaving it undone is just asking for 'Oops!' puppies.
that posture is indicative of some kind of pain. could be kidneys or bladder or intestinal or hips. :( what you could try is giving her some aspirin or something and see if it calms down a bit. poor little moo she is so cute!
afaik, roachback happens more like in the middle of the back.
I realized I made a mistake taking the photo on the sofa - her back does still have the sway, but when she's on the floor running around its far shallower. Though, there may be something wrong with her kidneys - I'll be sure to have her checked out. The first night we found her she couldn't eat anything and only drank milk, so we were afraid her system was shutting down.
She's back to eating and drinking normally, which might alleviate the problem, but she needs a vet visit anyway.
I agree with Cottonmanifesto - it looks terribly painful. This is the position that Charlie takes if he's in pain. Definitely talk to the vet about it (if you haven't already) and consider getting a second opinion if you're told it's totally okay or normal.
