Clementine Lab Results

Vet said: it's an infection caused by degenerate white blood cells. Then she goes onto say it's not cancer... she really doesn't know what it is. She isn't ruling out bug bite. She said to keep her on the antibiotics and hopefully it will flatten out and go away. Otherwise I need to make another appointment.

I said so what do I tell my boyfriend when he asks what it is? She says: "that it's not cancer as of yet" and it's an infection. What the hell does she mean by "as of yet???"

The vet told me even before they sent it to the lab that it wasn't cancer. So I paid $150 for her to not know what it is.

What are your thoughts please?

PS. she doesn't have dew claws. Breeder removed them when she was born.

I am feeling: worriedworried

That's probably wise ;)
THEN I'd go find another vet, whatever he outcome!

agreed! Like I said in the previous post, the vet seems like they're using scare tactics on you. Implying that your pup will EVENTUALLY get cancer is NOT COOL!!!

Isnt Clem relatively young? Did this dog come from the same breeder as Lulu?I remember you mentioning something about their being related but cant recall the specifics..In any event best wishes to you guys..hugs* I would also get a second opinion.

Clem is a year old. She did not come from the same breeder. like that would ever happen... but she does have the same dad. lulu on the other hand never had cancer....

I can't understand why the vet would say 'as of yet'. Seems like that is a statement that would make anyone worry for no reason. Its like when we go to the Dr for our annual and the Dr says you don't have cancer as of yet but I'll tell you in a few weeks. Are dew claws those ones that are kinda on the leg? I hope she will be ok and i'm sure its just and infection. :-)
Hang in there! Give Clem a hug and a kiss from Cole.

I wonder if she was being excessively clinical about the "not cancer as of yet" thing -- such as, "somehow there is an abnormal growth of cellular activity in this particular area which is by nature cancerous but not necessarily the malignant cancerous we typically think of with these sorts of things." Sort of like how a tumour is a cancer, by nature, but not necessarily in the malignant sense. I am not sure I'm making a lot of sense with this one...

she didn't even say it was a cell growth though! she said she had no idea what is was.
