Bella turns 4 this saturday! I'd love to get her a gift, and I'm thinking of a raised bowl set. Those of you that have raised feeders, how high is yours?

I'm debating between buying and making -

I found this spiffy model:

Or making her one like directed here

Other thoughts or recommendations?

(Sorry: I deleted my first reply to this 'cause I thought I was posting in someone else's journal)

My Daisy had done very well with a raised feeder. And I think that model there is VERY spiffy!

Daisy's is shoulder-height, and that's worked well. She doesn't have to do more than just tilt her head down to get her food; she doesn't have to stretch her neck at all.

Of course, she did figure out that she could move the whole thing over if she happened to drop a morsel of food behind it and just HAD to get it, which sometimes sloshes water all over. Silly girl... ;)

bella's will be right next to a wall, so hopefully the spillage will be cut to a minimum!

I hope so, too, although Daisy's is right up against one of our refrigerators, and she'll push it away when she's done to make sure she didn't drop any food -- which inevitably causes the water to slosh! But the mess is usually minimal, so it's not too much of a bother ;)

aww, what a cute gift idea. personally I like the DIY one better - plus you can customize it as you see fit or paint it neat colors.
