I haven't really shared much here, but the calendar idea inspired me to finally post the whole gang. There are eight pictures here (I hope y'all don't mind)! But there are only (only!!) five dogs total.

Calendar Suggestion

Since you're using the photos and (essentially) the animals of the people who win for each month, why not offer a free calendar to each of the 12 (or 13, depending on whether there's a "cover Boston") people who win?

It just seems kind of odd that everyone is rushing to put up their pictures of their beloved Boston so that the person who chooses the winners can sell calendars for $20 each.

Seems as though a free calendar is the least that could be offered since splitting the "profit" isn't very likely.

Edit: At $8.46 per calendar (for 20-50), you pre-sell 20 calendars and that gives you $400. That is enough money to buy 47.28 calendars. That leaves you 27 calendars to give to the 12 or 13 winners, and then sell the rest. You've now made $300 off our pictures and our animals. And gosh, we're just asking for a calendar.

I'm not sure what months these could be used in. But me and Madre really want Zoe in the calendar. We wanna order a few if Zoe gets in! ^_____^

This right here is a prize winning photo I'd like to submit for maybe April or May? Maybe July if we don't have any... I think it's very cute and it got a lot fo comments. xD

Boston's Rule

Some people evidently LOVE stress and conflict because instead of being as excited as most were about having our babies featured together in a BOSTON BUDDIES calendar, they have come up with reasons to shoot it down.  The company we are using does everything for us - the printing and the mailing.  We are not out any money in advance and I don't have the running around time & gas to pick up orders from a printer, purchasing the cardboard to keep the calendars from being bent in the mail, and then the actually mailing at the post office.  AND we aren't charging an entry fee because that would be just, uh, dumb.  People are asking for a free calendar if they win --- EVERYBODY wins because ALL entries will be in the calendar!!!  Sheesh!

Let's put it this way --- if you want to do it the way we have it set up, then do it.  If not, find something else to complain about and let everyone else have fun.

Ok, you can totally cut me off if I'm either posting too many pictures or posting too many calendar entries, hehe!

I just couldn't resist making Chaseykins pose for a cute cameo/camio (how DO you spell that?) today ^.^

Hey all! You might remember me from a while ago asking about boston terriers as i was looking into adopting a deaf boston terrier pup. That pup ended up getting placed before we contacted the lady. BUT great news, it looks like we're getting a boston terrier in matters of days! Been in contact with the Boston Allied Rescue Connection, and we recently got approved after a home visit (talk about nerve-wrecking, not so good with strangers coming to check out my house, eek! heh)

Now, to the point of this post. My boy & I are getting married on the 23rd and are going away for a comping trip, we want to take the boston terrier with us. We want to camp as much as possible and if we need a motel, we'll only go to ones that allow dogs of course. We want to cook our food as much as possible so we don't have to go out for dinner and leave the dog behind. The one thing we're concerned about is that there's bound to be times when we cannot take the bt with us such to certain attractions/tours, and the only choice would be to keep the bt in the car for 30-1 hr. Now I know that everyone says DON'T LEAVE YOUR DOG IN THE CAR!!! What do you guys do when you face a situation like this, going on a trip etc? Do you just keep the dog in the car? What do you do to insure that the bt stays cool? Any advice? We might just give up the idea of visiting certain attractions (such as the aquarium in Maryland)so that way we don't have to worry about this issue, but i thought i'd ask for your advice and past experiences with taking your bt on a road trip. We have decided against the idea of visiting attractions that don't allow animals, so no need to reply to this question.

We also plan on taking doggy sun lotion as i've heard that bts can get sun burnt, especially their noses? Anything else we should remember to take along for a road/camping trip concerning the BT? We're bringing food/water and containers for both of course.

Oh my goodness... what happened in our community today?

I just got home from the hospital (yes... AGAIN!) and looked at our beloved Boston "Buddies" community to find out how the calendar project is coming along.  I've read most of the comments and I must say that I'm a little disappointed.  I love this community and I'm VERY proud of the way we are so close.  I really want to keep it that way. Please don't get me wrong, I love all the calendar posts and all the sweet comments people are making about our babies... I'm just sad that things had to take a bit of a nasty turn.

I'm so proud of cajunsunshyne for coming up with the idea to make our calendars.  She really has put a lot of time into this community. You guys don't realize it, but she's the lady behind the scenes!  She does all the real work in the community.  These days I pretty much sit back and watch the community grow.  Occasionally I need to peek my head in and remind someone to resize their photos or use the LJ cut... But that's really the easy part.  Dawn does all the brainy hard work.  She is part of this community because she loves Boston's just the way we do.  Dawn is so sweet to do all the work on the calendars for free. She only does it because Boston's and this community are both close to her heart.  She loves to see people light up when they see work that she has done special for them.  She doesn't do it to make money.  She does it for fun and she likes to make her friends happy.

I know some of you were trying to figure out a way to make things cost less... but for what we are doing this year, and the amount of time and money we have to spend (very little time and no money)... this is the way that we want to do the calendar.  I don't' mean to sound snotty but if you don't like the way things are being handled please don't participate in the calendar.  Maybe NEXT year, you can do one of your own... but for this year... this is the way it's gonna be.

I know this might sound like a silly thing to ask, but I would love it if we could all kiss and make up. I really don't want to have to ban anyone from the community.  If I did that, then I would have to figure out how to first... and that would take more time away from my already busy and very stressful life.

I don't want to hear anymore complaining about the calendar.  If I do I will delete your posts or comments.

The "MOD" has spoken!

Now KISS damnit!

I luv you all...
