Hooded Cat Bed.

I bought Charlie a cat bed last night...one of those hooded "deeper sleepers". At first he checked it out, poking his head into it and then tripping over the hood as he stepped out. He turned around and started terrorizing it. How dare it grab his leg! I had to wait until he was all sleepy to put him into it so he would get the idea. He liked it then and slept in it for about half the night. This morning he's trying to get back into it. He goes too far into it and it tips over, comes out and only his butt fits. Early this morning he gave up on actually getting into it and just snuggled his head into it like a covered pillow. Now he's given up after desperately trying to nest and just let out an exasperated *HUFF* and is sitting on top of it looking at me like "Mom, this thing won't cooperate." It's a little bit small for him.

Heart love

We live in Massachusetts, and the past week has been absolutely frigid!! Roxie takes forever to do her business outside because she is so distracted by everything around her. This morning I took her out, and she was sniffing around in the snow, and she went, and I said, "Ok let's go back inside" but she didn't want to go in cause she was still sniffing something in the snow. So I stayed out with her, and after a minute her little feeties got so cold she kept holding them up, one at a time! And I kept wanting to go back in, but she didn't want to! So poor thing she was trying to hold all her feet up at the same time, and of course it wasn't working, so she decided the best thing to do was to lie down in the snow on her stomach and hold all her feet in the air!! It was sooooo funny but yet so pathedic I had to take her back inside. Poor thing, I guess it seemed like a good idea at the time!

We do have booties for her, but they fall off her little feet, and she doesn't like to walk in them. Maybe now she'll appreciate them!

Puppy Love

Baxter Update!

Little 'ole Baxter (see Icon) went for his puppy shots this past week.

He is a little shy of 11 weeks old and weighed in at a whopping 2.8 pounds. Poor little guy only gained about .8 pounds in two weeks.

Oh well... looks like we're in for a little Boston. Our adult male is 16 pounds and adult female is 13 pounds so he should make a nice addition, size-wise.
