some weekend pics....

....of our little family (minus the cat - who isn't quite "used" to the dog yet). Pepper is really fond of her kennel, and sleeps in it through the night now....but i think she'll always PREFER the bed :) as soon as we bring her into bed with us in the morning, she falls immediately asleep!! she loves it. such a snuggler....

2 Things...

First: Lucy Lu looked so beautiful this morning lying on the bed, looking up at me with sleepy eyes that it made me very much want to lay back down and kiss her rather than go to work. Darn her for being so gorgeous.

Second: I always get each of my babies a toy and a treat for their stocking. Well, I had gotten them the other day and forgetting how incredibly nosy Lucy is, I set the bag down on the living room floor. Next thing I know, Lucy is dragging her rope with a ball out with a frenzy. I say "NO! That's for Christmas!" And I took the bag and set it on top of the computer armoire. For two days now, she has been standing against that armoire and trying her damndest to figure out how to get up there to reach the bag. lol

We hung out for awhile at Furman University's campus the other day and I got two of the most gorgeous photos ever! (of course, i'm partial because it's my husband and my babies, but whatever) ;)

this is roast beef:

Image Hosting by

he's a 1[or so] year old, 10 lb, boston terrier/chinese crested mix. i recently adopted him from wonderdog rescue in san francisco.
he came from an animal hoarder in new mexico. they had a bunch of bosties and cresteds running around, and this little guy was the outcome of that mess. he's still very shy. i've been trying to find out more info about him from the original spca that received him.
he reminds me of a sullen teenager, he lays around all day, basking in the sun, chewing on bully sticks and staring at me. with a large yard to play in, he choses to sit in the sun.
i've got pretty bad pet allergies, but beef doesn't bother me. he has short terrier hair that sheds, a hairless underside, forward facing canines, and a musky doggie scent.

edit: i received some info from the agency that rescued beef. link to my journal entry

coat help needed!

Griffin just had skin allergy testing done at the veterinary allergist and he's all shaved on one side. Couple that in with the colder weather setting in and it makes for one chilly piggy! Right now, all I have for him is a sweater, but I think this year he needs a real coat. Can anyone recommend one? I'm looking for something warm, easy to get on/off and of course it has to be cool looking. Griffin doesn't want to sport some lame cheesy doggy duds. Also, he is allergic to wool and cotton, so it's best if it's made from synthetics. Any suggestions??

Griffin's cold tush thanks you!
