I think the picture of Rosco pushed me over the edge and now my husband and I are dying for another puppy. Gambit has been feeling blue lately; his gramma, who usually cared for him during alternate days, has passed away and he is probably lonely! When I get home from work he is starved for attention and causing all kinds of ruckus! I can’t keep up with him! So, my husband and I are considering a second puppy so that he can have all the companionship he needs. This is something we’ve been thinking of for a long time, so now seemed right. And our breeder has puppies available for the end of the month!! BUT I do have some questions for those of you with multiple pups and also some generic puppy questions. Please bear with me.

Those of you with two dogs - would you say the dogs spend plenty of time playing together, or are less demanding of human attention?

I ask because Gambit demands a lot of love and attention which I am all to happy to provide but I feel terrible if I am working on my computer or I am cooking or watching a movie and he wants my attention ALL THE TIME. I was wondering if he will be happier having a little sibling around to distract him when Mommy or Daddy is busy. I DO spend quite a bit of time doing work on my computer, and I feel terrible when he gives me that "why are you ignoring me?" pout, despite our having played only moments earlier. I was wondering if having another dog = more free time for mommy, less lonely time for him. I'm not saying I am ignoring my dog! But I would love for him to have more companionship!!

Just a query.

Yesterday was Seamus 'Gotcha Day'. I adopted him 3 years back when he was just eight weeks old from the Orlando SPCA. Best 45$ ever spent.

What is really cool is that I commissioned a painting of him by Kevin House and I got an email letting me know it was finished. I have been sick so I didn't check my email until today. I spoke with Kevin on the phone this afternoon and I couldn't be happier with out it came out. You guys should really check his work out, he is a folk artist whose work was actually featured on the cover of Bark magazine. He is amazing. I will say it's NOT cheap but well worth every penny, at least it was to me. I just have to send off the last payment and it's in the mail to me.
