It's crazy how a dog can mean so much...

Today I took Chief and Ziggy on a walk with me to get the mail; about a few blocks away from our townhouse. All of a sudden I noticed that Chief stops and starts licking his paw profusely, he even sat laid down and kept licking after I inspected it. I guess he stepped in an ant pile and got bitten, but there was nothing there. He laid on the grass and didn't want to get up. After a few seconds of coaxing he stood up and kept walking with us until he collapsed.

I swear my heart stopped when I picked him and his eyes rolled to the back of his head. I started crying and tried to keep Ziggy calm while I ran to an empty house and turned on their water hose. I wet his entire body hoping to wake him up and little by little he'd open his eyes. All the meanwhile Ziggy's barking her head off wondering what the hell's going on. I've never been so scared in my life. I was crying my heart out trying to revive my dog..after getting him awake I carried his limp body back home and laid him on the couch. After he realized he was home he lifted his head. I'd never seen him so lifeless. I called my husband and rushed Chief to the vet...luckily everything's ok. I guess the ant bite triggered his brachy syndrome...I'm stil quite shellshocked by it all..

And the whole point of this was to just express the effect and power that these dogs have over us.

I've never cried so much and so hard in my life...

My husband bought 4-month Chief as present for X-Mas right after I had moved away home. Having him around took my mind off of all the anxiety and sadness I had. My husband's in the military and I barely get to see him, and these dogs have become my family.

Holding his limp little body in my arms was the most terrifying experience of my life.

Thank God the little booger's ok.

Kelly & Frenchie

This is a picture of Frenchie and my daughter Kelly. Frenchie was a rescue from the Kentucky Humane Society. He was six months old when we got him. Frenchie was only 13 lbs., had manage, his back was was bare (no hair), you could see his spine, his teeth were crooked and his tongue hung out of the side of his mouth. He was very sick for the first two weeks. It took over a year to get rid of the mange. The vet said we were lucky that he lived the first two weeks. We invested a great deal of time and money to make his well. He is now the "star" of the family. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats and two horses. Frenchie is the best little dog we've ever had! I wish I had known about Bostons earlier.

Boston Terrier Pinup

Looking for a few puppy prayers..

Hi all.  I've only posted in here once before, because I was looking for a female friend for my male Boston.  At the beginning of last week we found her, the most perfect puppy you'd ever see..or so we thought.  After bringing her home, lively and playful, she started having very loose stool and vomiting.  I thought it was the affects of roundworm, and that the "breeder" just hadnt done her job worming the pups very well.  I took her to the vet yesterday, where she was diagnosed not only with tapeworm and roundworm..but Parvovirus too.  We have started treatment and we are praying for the best, but at only 8 weeks old Im not sure how optimistic I should be.  I would appreciate any kind of puppy prayers sent her way, believe me she needs them.  She seemed to have gotten through today okay, but Im terrified of her dehydrating.  They say I guess if they make it through the first 3-4 days they should be fine though, so here's to the next two.  Thanks everyone, for reading my ramblings..
