Last night was one of the worst nights of my life. I got home from work around 9pm and Violet had just been acting normal and begging for food while I ate my dinner. Around 10pm, she woke up from her nap and just started throwing up. She threw up like every 5 minutes and wouldn't stop. So I took her to the emergency vet and they thought she had Parvo...so I flipped out and started bawling my eyes out. When that test came back negative, they did x-rays and found that nothing was in her stomach, but they found that there was a lot of stool in her colon and an air bubble in her stomach....so they said that she had some gastrointestinal thing and gave her Famotidine (Pepcid...me a Pharmacy girl ;}) and Metoclopramide to help her nausea. But all in all and $330 later, my baby is okay. I had to work at 8am and I didn't get to bed until 3:30, but that's okay. She's healthy. Sorry this was so long, but I had to post Violet's bad experience....and has this happened to anyone else?

HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!

glad violet is okay!

i was watching my mother's dog once and when i came home there were piles of puke everywhere. it was unbelievable- i never saw so much. she must have felt a lot better by the time we got home, but we had a lot of cleaning up to do.

yep, it always costs me 3 of 4 hundred dollars for some reason lol
I'm very glad Violet is ok, she is probably just sensitive, she's so tiny still. When our boxer Katara (rip) was a pup she had uncontrolable runs, it was everywhere (in the laundry room) and we rushed her to the vet, had all the usual stuff done and she was given meds and got better (don't remember what it was, a bug I think) so don't worry, these things happen.
When Rebel was a puppy he got stung by a wasp!! his little face swelled up so fast I could not believe it!!! Luckly the vet is pretty much right at the end of our road (we live out in the country) and we rushed him there, he would have died had we not been there, his wind pipe was closing up!!!
now that he is much bigger (28lbs now) I don't think the sting would be as bad. Puppies are more prone to gettng stuff. She will grow out of it, hopefully you will still have some money left!!
When ever Tinkerbell gets a shot she would have a reaction to it, hives all over, breathing problems. Found out she is allergic to Lepto that is in rabies vaccine.
I've spent a fortune!!! LOL

Poor little pup, glad she's ok now. And I must say that is such an adorable name! I love it. Reminds me of my mouse (named Lavender).

Anyways when Lola was a pup she got this bug, and she vomited and pooed blood. It was so scary. She even had to stay at the vet overnight. But she recovered very well and two days later she was out and about. Puppies bounce back from things like that very easily, its us humans who get more scared I think...
