Lilo found a piece of rawhide in the yard (how it got there I have no idea!) and she brought it in to chew.  Many months ago before reading all the horror stories about doggies choking on raw hide or it getting stuck in their tummies and stuff I bought a 4 pack of rawhide bones with beef flavored coating.  I did this because the only thing that they would chew on at that time were the walls and carpets!  They wanted nothing to do with the cute little squeaky toys I kept getting them.  I did, however, finally find something: The Kongs where you put the peanut butter biscuits in them and they loved them!  Anyway - since Lilo had rawhide I decided to get out the bones.  I gave Lilo and Stitch each one, and Stitch being the stingy dog he is, would abandon his and go for Lilo's.  Then Lilo would see his across the floor and leave hers for his, leaving the one that she had been chewing on with no gravy coating left for Stitch!  This went on for awhile... temping me to get the camera to document the madness!  hehehe</p>

Lilo LOVES hers - YUMMY gravy coating!!!

Uh-oh... Stitch is lurking in the fore-ground... this is his way of trying to be inconspicuous.

Staking it out before he goes in for the snatch!

It worked... Lilo let him have it (and he was trying to hide it from her!)... but wait... she went for his!

Chowing down...

Off camera we saw Stitch leave his, sniff hers...
she got up and got his, brought it back to her spot and Stitch ran back to his ---
but as you can see, Lilo took it!  (shhhh, he doesn't know it yet!  LOL)

SO YUMMY!!!

Stitch going back to rescue is pore chewed up no gravy bone...

They finally each have one...

But wait!  Stingy dog wants the one Lilo has!!!

He pretends not to see her...

He looks bored...

Getting ready for the take!!!

He got it!  He ran to their room and Lilo chased him!!!
He growled and won't let her in!  Look at that face!

Guarding his poor no gravy bone...

It STILL tastes delicous!

awwww, so cute!!! Gertie always tries to steal Chopper's treat. He'll fake her out and go for a toy, then she'll snatch the toy away and go play, while Chopper gingerly pick up his treat and walks to the kitchen. *LOL*

OMG That is just great!:D
Gimli & Buddy do that but the bones that I have bought them apparently make them throw up foamy stuff. I don't know if it is just that they get too worked up or what cause they both throw up foam after a while. It's usually just the pug that does it, but my boston did it the other night, WHILE HE WAS ALONE

I still can't believe how big your dogs are!!!!
Loving Lifellinthesand on July 15th, 2004 09:53 am (UTC)
Dems are big chunky butts! hehehe
Ours are the typical size --- we have always had babies that have gotten about this big... I thought about getting mini's but they were SO expensive! I saw one while we were on our Honniemoon last week... SO cute! I thought she was 6 months old but she was a few years old!

...rawhides are bad for dogs? Oh dear I had I no idea... Lola loves them so much... whats a better alternative? Like those bones you gave Lilo and Stitch? What are those???
Loving Lifellinthesand on July 15th, 2004 10:39 am (UTC)
They are rawhide bones. I think people are divided on what is ok and what is not for their babies... some say they have always given them rawhide and had no problems, while the others have horror stories. I guess we just have to be careful and maybe not leave them home alone with the rawhide?

That is so cute. When Cornholio is feeling mad or attacky, he puts his back to you and glares over his shoulder, too!!!

I think that some dogs chew the rawhide until it is a soggy glob and then they can choke on it, and that's why some people have problems with them. They're okay under supervision and I think you're supposed to take them away when they get too small that they could choke your doggie. I think.

hehehe... I will do that (take them away when soggy!)
