Hey all! You might remember me from a while ago asking about boston terriers as i was looking into adopting a deaf boston terrier pup. That pup ended up getting placed before we contacted the lady. BUT great news, it looks like we're getting a boston terrier in matters of days! Been in contact with the Boston Allied Rescue Connection, and we recently got approved after a home visit (talk about nerve-wrecking, not so good with strangers coming to check out my house, eek! heh)
Now, to the point of this post. My boy & I are getting married on the 23rd and are going away for a comping trip, we want to take the boston terrier with us. We want to camp as much as possible and if we need a motel, we'll only go to ones that allow dogs of course. We want to cook our food as much as possible so we don't have to go out for dinner and leave the dog behind. The one thing we're concerned about is that there's bound to be times when we cannot take the bt with us such to certain attractions/tours, and the only choice would be to keep the bt in the car for 30-1 hr. Now I know that everyone says DON'T LEAVE YOUR DOG IN THE CAR!!! What do you guys do when you face a situation like this, going on a trip etc? Do you just keep the dog in the car? What do you do to insure that the bt stays cool? Any advice? We might just give up the idea of visiting certain attractions (such as the aquarium in Maryland)so that way we don't have to worry about this issue, but i thought i'd ask for your advice and past experiences with taking your bt on a road trip. We have decided against the idea of visiting attractions that don't allow animals, so no need to reply to this question.
We also plan on taking doggy sun lotion as i've heard that bts can get sun burnt, especially their noses? Anything else we should remember to take along for a road/camping trip concerning the BT? We're bringing food/water and containers for both of course.
