So, Cornholio had been messing with his eye a lot the past couple of days, and we were keeping an eye on it. Yesterday when Shawn (the husband) came home from work, he noticed that his eye was almost totally closed, so it was time to run to the vet! :) Good thing our vet is super awesome and has great hours and always fits us in when there's something wrong (which is like, what? once every few months??).
As soon as the vet lays eyes on him, he says "Ahhh... it's the infamous Cornholio." I'm not sure if that's because of his name or all the problems he creates for himself, but he's infamous. Our vet's office has like, 12 doctors. Word travels, I guess.
Anyway, it turns out that Mr Corndog has scratched his eyeball! They're not sure if it was irritated before and that's why he scratched, or if he just happened to be scratching and messed it up himself. Either way, now he has two kinds of eyedrops. One antibacterial, and one to stop the pain and irritation. One of them must sting when it goes in, because he will keep trying to paw his eye with his front paw for about 15 minutes after.
He's doing good now, though. I'm home for a bit because I have a dentist appointment later, so right now he's sleeping on my lap, snoring away, with his butt higher than his head.
I took some pictures of his eye and some of how I found him sleeping when I got home from the gym earlier. He is too pathetic.
