Kittsy and Bandit

Hey Everyone...

It's been a long time since I've posted here, but things have been very stressful for me, especially the last week.

Kittsy's brother Bandit (the pug) damaged his left eye to the point where it had to be removed this past Thursday. We also had to make a trip to the ER Vet that night after we brought him home, when, for still unknown reasons, his eye began to hemorige profusely. Needless to say it's been very stressful on all of us, Kittsy included.

She has been down in the dumps and very depressed while he's been gone, but now that he's home, she wants nothing to do with him. It's rather frustrating, because all he wants to do is be close to her right now and all she wants is to stay as far away from him as possible. She looks at him sometimes with the most disgusted look I've ever seen. It breaks my heart! If anyone wants to read more about the incident, it's all posted in this journal, and in two of the pug communities.

However, from all of the stress has come a few good things, including the opening of pirate_pets, a community for all one eyed pets out there. If you have a pet that only has one eye, or has eye problems, then feel free to join. I know Bostons (as well as pugs) are very succeptible to eye injury, so I'm sure this applies to at least a few of you. I guess it's just my way of helping others deal with the trials of animal eye removal and the after effects.

I hope everyone has a great day, and I'll make it a point to post more now that the stress has lessened!

In case anyone still checks this community, I thought I'd post this. My Lainie died yesterday. She had turned 11 years old not long ago. I took her…
