Need some thoughts...

Just wanted to get your thoughts....My husband and I are new to this "puppy thing" ;o) All of our previous dogs have been "pound puppies" and none were ever under a year old...and we have never had a Boston. But anyways, Kermit is a very good pup and is very smart and trainable. She is only 16 weeks old. She sits, stays (sort of - we are working on it!), can shake, and barks to go out. She doesn't bark alot though. And calms down when we pick her up. But the thing is, Kermie goes nuts for new people, she must have them love her! So all these calm, good behaviours go right out the window. She just turns into a big ball of wiggles, licks, and "love nips". She gets very wiggly and hard for others to hold. It is just too exciting!! This occured at the vet today...and the vet said maybe we should try obedience/training classes offered at like Petsmart. Well, my question is...is this "liveliness" just BT behavior and/or puppy behavior she will grow out of?? She is pretty good when it is just Jason and I! And I have had several friends do those types of classes and I have seen no improvement in their pooches. The classes can also cost a pretty penny, so I would like your input. I don't want to over-react to typical behavior..but I also don't want to ignore a problem and have a misbehaved dog later! :o) Thanks!
