Well Brian and I drove 4 hours down to West Palm Beach yesterday morning and picked up her and her brother!! We then drove to Carolyn's house (who is the president of the FL Boston terrier rescue) to drop of the little boy. He'll be living with her, she'll be taking care of him until he's back in good health, and then finding him a good forever home. We then drove back up to Jacksonville last night.
The little girl doesn't know her name, so I don't feel guilty about changing it.. we've decided that she's a Hazel. She is such a sweet baby.. very feisty and playful, but also a love bug. :) She and Zeke seemed to really like each other right off the bat. We tried to keep them separate last night, until we could bring Hazel to the vet this morning and get her checked out. She slept in her crate last night, and didn't cry at all.
This morning I brought Hazel to the vet.. I had bloodwork & a fecal test done.. She's heartworm negative, so that was a big relief.. she does have hook worms though, but the doctor fed her two pills to get rid of them. She also has cherry eye, which will get taken csre of when she's spayed this week, & she has demodectic mange, which is also being treated. We ended up spending $165!! Ouch.
Our biggest issue right now is potty training! It's been a long time since we had to potty training Zeke, and it's definitely a task.. especially when you live on the third floor!!! She's worth it though.. I feel very lucky to be able to give her a forever home :)
