Eye help

My poor Chica has a yucky eye infection and the stupid vet can see her until AFTER Thanksgiving! It's runny and green and I feel so bad for her. When I can pin her down in my lap I hold a warm washcloth on her eyes and keep them clean, but I can tell it is uncomfortable for her.

Any tips? Is there anything I can get from a pet store that will help at least keep her comfortable until her vet visit?
