adopting or buying a boston terrier in new york?

Hi, i'm new to this community and have decided that i would like to add a boston terrier to my household. I was wondering if anyone knows of any reputable breeders, animal shelters, or people in the new york city/brooklyn area that have boston terriers for adoption or for sale? i have been checking out petfinder.com and craigslist and a few animal shelter sites in the area, and have also emailed a few places about adoption but have yet to hear back from them.

typically i am looking to adopt a boston that is about 1 - 5 years old that gets along well with cats (i have one) and other dogs. but i would definitely consider adopting a younger boston/puppy.

any information you have regarding finding a boston terrier in my area would be great! as well as any information that a first time boston terrier owner should know.
